Juicing and blood sugar

If you're feeling a bit light headed or in a fog, during the first 3 days of detox throw some chia seeds in your juices, or have a handful of raw nuts (preferably soaked for this part of the detox) 3-4 times a day.  A half of an avocado with a little bit of balsamic vinegar drizzled on top will also help level out blood sugar and energy.  Also during these three days you may want to reduce your activity level to one work out a day-preferably do a hot yoga class daily to help calm you and to sweat toxins out.

Remember to drink lot's of water!!!!!

TCHY DETOX

It's day one of the TCHY 14 day detox and this is being kicked off with 3 days of healthy, yummy juicing.  Prior to today, hopefully, you have been cutting out caffeine, alcohol and junk food so that your body will not go into shock being without them.  I'm very excited to be a part of this process with you!!  The most exciting part for me, is to watch peoples faces become less bloated/puffy, and less red and eyes that begin to sparkle and light up more as your body gets filled with living foods and eliminates toxins.

I am hoping that you will sign up as a blogger here so that you can share your questions and your progress with the whole group.  I will be checking in most mornings during these next 14 days to answer your questions.

Heal your Body and Mind- 6 week class starts July 12th

Heal Your Body and you will Heal Your Mind

Join me on a 6 week journey to Optimal Weight Loss, Health, Glow, Energy and to a Happy Brain.

Many of my clients come in with the following complaints: They are tired, sluggish, anxious, depressed, have gained weight and can't sleep. Can you relate? Are you perhaps suffering from digestive problems, is your choleseterol level creeping up? You do not have to live with any of this. Find out what you need to fix and how to fix it by coming on this 6 week journey with me.

While this program does includes an eating plan, it is not about just about food. It is about getting all of you back into balance which translates into being a calmer, happier, and more energetic person. The topics and eating plan included in this program have been medically proven to increase weight loss and improve your quality of life.

This journey, starting Thursday, April 19th, will help you to finally understand why it is so important to heal key body systems in order to get your body working the way that it used to work or the way you'd like it to work but maybe never has. You'll also learn why the standard formula of fewer calories in and more calories out, does not always equal Weight loss. Many previous participants are amazed at how well they look and feel during and after the program.

Experiences of previous clients/participants:
  • There were so many firsts for me during this class. This was the first time I could function off of my anti depressants, the first time I've studied the effects of nutrition on my brain, the first time someone has listened to my particulars and had suggestions that actually worked. You are so fun and I enjoyed our class so much. Thank you for leading us.” Shannon
  • I feel better than I have in years. I have lost the ugly belly fat….I feel happy-I can’t remember when I was just happy. My cholesterol drop 30 points. EH
  • You provided me with a space to try different things that I would never have done on my own. And I didn't even realize how much I benefited from everything that I did and learned until some months down the road, after the class, when I began to feel sluggish and anxious again because I was no longer incorporating any of what I had learned. It works!! If was a gift to myself!
  • I have been struggling with food allergies for years with stomach distension and cramping as a result and have tried many different remedies with little to no result. Then I had the opportunity to participate in your Broken Brain Program and for the first time in my life experienced relief and healing of my stomach and intestinal track. I would highly encourage anyone to take the opportunity to go through the program and heal their system and gain an incredible amount of knowledge in the process. Thank you Cindy for putting together such an in-depth educational program you made a huge difference in my life. Michael Buskey Jan 2012

The cost of being overweight or obese

I wanted to share with you the staggering figures regarding the epidemic of overweight and obese Americans. According to an article that I recently saw in Life Extension's magazine, July 2011 issue, 65% of Americans are now overweight or obese and this excess weight costs our nation an estimated $93 billion in annual medical bills. And there is a distortion or a great denial going on as demonstrated by a recent survey, where about 30% of overweight individuals think they are normal size and 70% of Americans classified as obese felt that there were simply overweight. So that means that we are getting used to the thought that carrying around a few extra pounds is "normal".

Now you might ask, why am I making such a stink about this? Well, it's not really for cosmetic reasons. All of those extra pounds cost billions of dollars as they translate into diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, strokes, depression and the quality of life of those who are overweight is compromised and most people don't even realize how much. You see, when pounds are gradually put on, it's kind of like the frog who slowly boils, the discomfort is gradual so that a person doesn't even realize that they haven't felt really good in 10 years or that their energy and zest for life has diminished so much that all they really do anymore is go to work and then sit on the couch and watch the TV once they are back home. They have very little juice left to do anything else. The sad part, is that we have been conditioned that this tiredness, along with the new aches and pains are all a natural progression of aging and that's not true!!!
This is a bill of goods that the pharmaceutical companys along with our trusted doctors are selling us. And as I say, this, I don't believe that doctors are purposely trying to deceive us, they just have accepted it too, as a natural progression.

We have a lot of very 'old' 40 and 50 year olds running around and we are accepting it as the norm. And what I mean by 'old' is that even though a person might be chronologically a certain age, the "metabolic" age may be 10 years or more higher depending on the overall health of the person which is directly tied to the amount of excess weight a person is carrying.

So what can you do to reduce your size and regain your health? Actually, the best thing you can do is to think about what your ancestors ate and how they moved daily. It's really as simple as that when you break it all down. This simple idea may not seem that easy to incorporate into your lifestyle, so I would like to recommend a few ideas to get you started. Do this for 30 days and take note of any differences that you may feel.

  • First, take all breads (includes pizza), gluten containing cakes and cookies and pastas out of your diet for 30 days.

  • Increase your vegetable consumption to at least 8 servings a day

  • Take out processed foods and make your own as much as you can. No high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats.

  • Move your body at least 30 minutes 5 days a week. Anything that elevates your heart rate will do. Even if it is just a walk for some and even if you have to break that walk up into two 15 minute periods if you find physical activity difficult.

  • Increase your water consumption to at least 6 8 ounce glasses per day.
We have to start reversing this trend that is robbing people of all ages of productive, joyful lives one day at a time.

Raw Chocolate Pudding

Raw Chocolate Pudding
2 cups coconut meat (2 coconuts)
3/4 cup coconut water, at room temperature
½ cup maple syrup
1/4 cup brown rice syrup
2 T. orange juice (optional)
½ cup blueberries
1 avocado
½ cup dark cocoa or Cacao powder
2 Tablespoons vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon Real salt

In a Vita Mix type blender or food processor, puree all the ingredients until completely smooth, stopping to scrape the sides as necessary. Transfer to bowls and chill for a firmer pudding or eat it straightaway.

This pudding will tickle your tongue and just make you plain feel good. The Blueberries add antioxidants are anti-inflammatory. Avocados are a good source of heart healthy fats and folic acid.  The Cacao powder is also a great source of antioxidants (more so than cocoa powder due to the processing) and magnesium-which we do not get enough of!!  So you can feel guilt free with this nutrient packed treat!!

Migraines

Natural Rx for Migraines

Migraines can be debilitating to the point of interfering with being able to work and enjoy life. They are often caused by hormonal imbalances, food allergies, low endorphin levels, magnesium levels and or low Vitamin D levels. If you suffer from migraines, relief may be easier and closer than you think. Below are some easy natural suggestions to get relief.

Progesterone cream: apply 1-2 pumps to temples at onset of headache for relief.

Have Estrogen and progesterone levels checked to see if there is estrogen dominance. This can be done either salivary, blood or urine.
(Salivary testing is available through A Living Balance)

Vitamin D3: relieves pain and has been shown to inhibit cancer. Take 5000 iu per day for 5 weeks and then back off to 2000 iu for maintenance. It’s always good to have your levels check 3-6 months once starting supplementation.

200 mg Magnesium- twice daily

DL Phenylalanine-reduces pain by blocking the enzyme that breaks down endorphins and enkephalins.

Saloxin-supports pain relief naturally without stomach irritation. White willow bark, and AKBA boswellia extracts are good sources.

Look for possible food allergies: Testing for IgG responses (you may obtain a test from A Living Balance)

Meditate 10 –20 minutes daily.

The above is not to be used as a diagnosis and it is always recommended to seek medical advice as well as testing to rule out any life threatening reasons for intense or prolonged headache pain, as well as before taking supplements.
